Artist's CommentsThis is my second watercolour for my summer series untitled "La plage". I wanted to do something more feminine this year, and here it is, my painting with a beautiful lady posing on the beach. Of course this was not made with a real model ( unfortunately). More to come soon, I have already made 1 other watercolour for this series For How do you think I could improve the girl?
-- My Photoblog oh c'est gentil
May He let His face shine upon you... And give you Peace! Heaven's Key to Peace My pleasure, hon!
-- ~ May He let His face shine upon you... And give you Peace!

Good Work.
I really rather love this painting. To follow your questions for the group members, I'd suggest giving the girl more shading, and more detail, on her stomach. The background is so full of colour, and wonderful shapes, and movement created by the mixing colours, but you don't allow for that movement in the girls colours as well. At least, not so much in her stomach, and pants.
To "deviate" from your question and continue, I'd have suggested not using a dark line art for the girl. While yes, it makes her pop off the page, it makes the background seem out of place without it's own black pen to pull it in. My suggestion would be a brown Sakura media pen, or just pencil over lightly after the paint had dried.
My favorite part (other than your beautiful colour) is definitely the cropping of this piece. You take a normally huge "no, no" of cropping part of the legs out, and make it beautiful with her position, and lighting. Almost as if a planned photograph.
I think I'll leave it at that. The entire piece is amazingly beautiful the way it is, but this is what I'd suggest for you. Just as a thought though, this is the only piece I've seen by you. So forgive me if I am out of line.
